"Flow" is a term we hear often in yoga, but what is the flow state? It is when one is so involved with an activity being performed that they simultaneously experience serenity and ecstasy, complete focus, and near timelessness. The level of activity is at the line of being easy enough that we perform almost without thinking, yet hard enough to maintain mental stimulation. I am passionate about the flow state, and I access it through yoga, hoop dance, fire spinning, aerial dance, and chess. The mind is both alert, yet calm. In other words, we are fully absorbed in the activity, which isn't surprising since absorption is the eighth limb of yoga. I began yoga in high school because I was attracted to the physical practice. I fell in love after the spiritual journey inwards I began. I grew up without religion, and yoga filled the spiritual blank in my life. It taught me devotion, and unconditional love. It heals me so much, that I realized it is my duty to show others this beautiful lifestyle. Teaching yoga is unique, because it is more about guiding the student to teach themselves, by learning awareness and mindfulness. My yoga style is a blend of discipline and play. It is about continually coming back to the mat, and reconnecting with one's inner child. As a teacher, I want to show that yoga is for every body. I wish to be a mirror that reflects the love and light within everyone.

Bailey's Classes:

Intro To Flow

Wednesdays 6:00pm - 7:15pm

This class is suitable for beginners, those who are new to yoga, or those with experience who would like a gentle and restorative class.  We will focus on proper alignment in fundamental postures, how to avoid inujury, connecting with the breath, cultivating awareness of the mind and body and exploring spirituality through our practice.  We will learn preparatory movements to develop strength and flexibility for the vinyasa class, how to "turn on" desired muscular groups, and release tension from the shoulders, neck, back and hips.

Vinyassa Flow

Saturdays 10:15am - 11:30am

This class is suitable for those with experience practicing yoga.  New poses such as arm balances, inversions and standing balancing will be sprinkled throughout the class, and modifications are available to suit most levels of experience.  This class will bring you a deeper sense of focus and concentration as we flow through strengthening postures, followed by a sense of grounding and serenity as we release tension and open up the shoulders, hips and back.  We will focus on using the breathe and core to guide and stabilize us through our movements, as well as increasing mobility and using strength to deepen our flexibility.
