A nurse, a mom, a graduate student-- my life is a crazy, beautiful storm full of silliness, lots of hard work, tons of love, and a dash of sass. I live by the motto, "Find peace in the chaos." Zumba has been a way for me to incorporate health and wellness into my crazy life by allowing me to unwind and be a little wild and free while improving my overall health and letting the endorphins take over!
Zumba really is a full body workout. It is mostly cardio, but it will also work a number of large muscle groups including your core, legs, glutes, back, and arms. It is a fast-paced, latin-inspired, dance-based exercise. And while yes, it is a workout, you will not even notice you are exercising because we will be having a blast while we shake our booties to some awesome tunes!
You do not have to have any dance experience to participate in Zumba. My dances are fairly simple, easy-to-follow, and can be modified, if needed.
As with any exercise, if you have any health issues, please check with your primary care provider to make sure it is safe for you to participate.
What will you need for Zumba:
- Clean, comfortable shoes (please change your shoes upon entering the studio)
- Comfortable clothes
- Towel (recommended if you sweat a lot)
Classes are all 45 minutes.
My class schedule varies depending on the month, so be sure to check the "classes" page for dates, times, and special events (like my 90's Dance Parties!!)
